Local Gallery Showings in June

Local Gallery Showings in June

While in some ways it feels like I spent May recovering from the last of the home renovation project, I was pretty busy applying to various exhibits and grants and residencies. For those that have already completed their review, I got several rejections but also several acceptances! In what feels like an embarrassment of riches, I actually have two back-to-back openings to kick off the month.

On Friday, June 5, at 6PM, Desert Garden Gallery will open their Desert Garden Show to celebrate their first anniversary. For those on the east side of Tucson, this is very easy to get to and right next to ReArt. For those on the west or north side of Tucson, a sunset drive across town is really special. Just take Ina-Skyline-Sunrise until you can't anymore, and then maybe keep going. You can see two of my pieces here: April Showers... and Southwest Sunset through July.

On Saturday, June 6 from 5PM to 7PM, De La Vega Gallery hosts the opening of their RISE: From Adversity to Light exhibit. The gallery is fairly centrally located near Prince & Campbell. My piece Sun Shining Through will be in this show, which runs until July 11th.

I look forward to seeing you there! As far as I am aware, these shows feature local artists pretty exclusively, so you will be able to see all kinds of work from local talent.
