Playful, Practical & Political: Solo Show at the Overlook

My first solo show is now up on three large wall spaces at The Overlook restaurant at the Canada Golf Course and Oro Valley Recreation Center, and will be installed through Saturday, August 29, 2026.

This show, Playful, Practical & Political, uses 17 acrylic and mixed media abstract paintings to demonstrate the wide variety of ways ductile neuron-like lines can be used in art. From wavy DNA-like seaweed and aurora ribbons to crackling lightning and shooting stars to healing fractures with precious metals, I have chosen less scientific applications of neurographic lines for this how than is typical of my portfolio.

While the Oro Valley Recreation Center is open to the public during the hours listed on their website, the kitchen at The Overlook has separate hours, if you'd like to grab a bite or indulge in happy hour while enjoying not just my art but also the Southern Arizona Arts Guild pieces decorating the dining area.

I'll be speaking briefly about my show during the SAAG reception for their FDR's Four Freedoms Exhibit on Sunday, May 17, from 1-3PM. I'm also planning at least one more reception later during the show, and you're welcome to schedule a walkthrough with me directly at info@kmhexpressions.com or 520-261-1746.
