Flow Style Art (with Bonus Origin Story)

Flow is one of my subcategories within the Neurographic line. In fancy terms, these pieces are the output of visual journaling prompts and mindful art expression sessions. In more basic terms, these pieces were created when I sat down with a canvas, grabbed whatever colors matched my mood or gave me a happy vibe when I thought about using them, and just dove in to the practice. No real plan, no real concept of what I wanted the finished piece to look like, just a moment for myself and all the fun tools and colors and media I have collected and permission to go with the flow.
The fancy terms came about through a couple of online classes I attended over the past two years. As I started on my journey of stretching out of a more hobby-oriented space and into a business mindset for my art, I discovered a local chapter of the global organization Creative Mornings. In addition to the fabulous monthly local chapter gatherings, the parent org offers oodles of free webinars on a variety of topics for creative-minded folks. These are called Virtual Field Trips, and they are amazing. Seriously, if you are a creative yourself or have been itching to get some creative energy into your life, you should check these out.
A few of the webinars I attended were about visual journaling, using various art techniques and media to express a response to mindfulness prompts. I really enjoyed this freeform style and use of art as an intentional expressive space of internal reflection. Like my Experiments, these pieces are not created with an intent to represent anything other than a mood, a vibe, a moment in time that felt like it really needed teal to connect with something rattling around in my head. Sometimes a gestalt comes out that shifts the piece into my Mico or Macro neurographic pieces. But often it doesn't. Hence the Flow collection.
